Vitality!
In the course of December 2004 and January 2005 writing for the Daily Calendars and Step by Step has been both a curse and a blessing..... *Grin*
A curse because of the challenge of having to write an article every single day, thinking of a new, different and unique perspective and compiling and composing a logical, rational stream of words that might mean something to the readers to the website.... this was by no means an easy challenge (and I sometimes wonder why I set myself such a formidable task ;o)..... maybe because I decided that I wanted to challenge my own boundaries and un-define and unlimit what the website means to me? A blessing because I wanted to explore the relationships I have with some of the subscribers, explore what the website means to me and the interaction I have with you through the articles and emails I receive. I discovered it’s more than just a surface interaction of writing a logical stream of words to form articles that I publish for a sense of my own personal gratification.
It’s a sharing of who I am, my own personal struggle with weight and all the things that influence why and what I feel about my weight, my body size and shape and my sense of self, self-esteem and confidence. The articles I choose on health issues are usually because someone has emailed me with a concern or a question, or I feel inspired by someone sharing their own struggle and sometimes their triumph over a challenge overcome.
After writing more than fifty articles during the course of these two months, plus a three day bout of migraine headaches and diarrhoea, I realised how little energy I have right now.... and how much energy and vitality play a role in how well we perform, our productivity, and our sense of peace and security on a daily basis..... Physical vitality creates Body Power, a Positive attitude creates Mental Energy, and Self-esteem, Personal Power and Confidence does have an influence on our Spiritual Essence..... and the way we feel!
We need essential ingredients to keep on living, oxygen is of vital importance.... without air to breathe, there is no life, no human, animal or plant life that is.... and we need the sun, water and the earth to provide the vital ingredients for human survival. To have Mental energy, positive thoughts and influence are of vital importance.... and to develop a sense of well being, peace, love and security are as necessary as the air we breathe!
When striving to reach a personal ideal or making your dreams a reality there are certain essential ingredients that are vital to success.... some of which you only discover during the course of your experience...
While writing articles daily for the WhyWeight Step by Step was an idea I wanted to explore, and so set off with enthusiasm and excitement while I was healthy and happy in my purpose..... a migraine and a bout of diarrhoea set me off questioning why I would get up from my sick bed on the second day to write two or three articles to catchup with the days I had missed (as you will note I am still struggling to catchup ;o)..... what was the power to sustain me, to endure through the tough time of feeling physically awful and mentally diminished.... well the question was answered when I received the visitors stats for the website just this past week, and realised I had broken a ‘visitor’ count that had been pretty much established for the last three years.... you the visitors broke the record and we are up by 40%...... WOW!
Visitors to the website, people reading the articles, emails asking questions, giving feedback and sharing their lives is what gives WhyWeight it’s vitality! It’s what sustains me through the rough times and supports me in the tough times..... it’s why it works..... it what makes all the hours of work worthwhile..... It’s what gives the website, the email newsletters and daily calendar the life it has!
Establishing the vital ingredients you need to reach your personal endeavours is as important as breathing air is to life..... sometimes you know what those are when you start off, sometimes it takes a while to discover what they are.... and sometimes they grow beyond your wildest dreams!
