the season of Spring....
in Ancient Chinese traditions Spring is linked with the element of Wood. This energy of Wood and the season of Spring is one of rising energy, of growth! It is the time of Yang energy, highly unpredictable and unstable, yet filled with enthusiasm and the feeling of great potential!
Spring is the Seasonal and Sacred New Year! ....a time of different perspectives and exploring new ideas .....it’s the meshing of ancient wisdom and old ways, with the birthing of fresh creativity and new growth!
As Winter struggles to surrender to Spring, there is a clash of energy....
....Nurturing comfort in wisdom and what is predictably known, with Different Perspectives, Vibrant Changes and Bursts of fresh Growth. Spring’s warmth is stalled when overwhelmed by Winters last hold. Winter gives her last bid in spurts of raging winds and hailstorms, while Spring defiantly brings new growth from beneath the surface. In rebellious opposition, Spring blossoms with buds in the prettiest colours, only to have this energy shrivelled in the last cold frosts of Winter. Like a teenager, Spring struggles to break free from the binds of Winter. Everywhere, green leaves burst forth overnight from old and mature wood and buds peek in curled perfection.
Much of the new Spring growth seems lost in this struggle for power between the holding Winter energy of Yin, and the rising unpredictable Spring energy of Yang. Yet there is purpose in this clash of power! Only the most determined and strongest of life and the most vibrant and creative of ideas will last through this power struggle to take root, anchor and hold for the duration of Summer!

Colours of Spring are.... those that relate to new growth! The lightest greens of the first leaves, curled buds and young saplings. The lightest sky blues as the Winter surrenders it’s dark grays and deep blues to the returning Summer Sun!
