Where is the Love? The last place anyone looks …
Self Love …. I've heard of many love's - past love, parental love, sibling love, tough love - but the hardest love of all seems to be Self Love!
Why? Because loving yourself becomes a "label" - you are called "egotistical, selfish or snobbish". If you love yourself openly, take pride in what you wear, how you walk, talk or act, what you buy, how you work - you are "snobbish"! If you walk tall, are proud and confident - you have an "overblown ego"! If you take time for yourself, say "no" to requests or do things and make decisions to make yourself happy - you are "selfish"!
Sound familiar? There's a thin line between a "label" and loving who you are - it's called Acceptance. Don’t feel guilty for taking five minutes for yourself if the rest of your time is taken up doing work for others - be it at an office, or at home looking after your family - to have the energy to look after others you need to energise yourself and the only way to do that is "stop the world, and get off for a couple of minutes or hours". This special "me" time will give you chance to accept and love you who are; accept and love the body you are in; accept and love the world around you - if you don't accept and love yourself and your surroundings, how are you supposed to give love back?
If it's not the slimmest or sexiest body in the world, so what! It's yours - accept it and move on. If it's not the most beautiful or designer-built home that you live in, so what! It's yours - accept it and move on. Acceptance of yourself (self love) shines through you and it is visible to others - you shine! It gives you confidence and self-confidence helps break the barriers that have held you up all your live. If the high self-confidence is not all there - FAKE IT! Only you know how you feel inside, and you will be amazed how people can be fooled into believing that you are the most confident person in the world.
Dress well (and I am not talking designer labels here!) - I'm talking about dressing for yourself - what style, colour and look suits you - so what if it's the fifties style - you don't really want to look like everyone else - be yourself - not only will you look good, but feel confident and free.
Take pride in the knowledge that loving and accepting who you are is the greatest personal challenge! Forgive yourself and others - no-one is perfect - and in forgiving you can let go of past hurts and guilt's - move on!
So, "Where is the Love?" It's not as far away as you think…. It's inside of YOU!
Remember.... Live Life to the Fullest and never have any Regrets!
