Purpose and Passion!
In the last two years I have tried some diets and eating plans, experimented with some eating patterns and exercise regimes - mainly for the WhyWeight website and programs, and even enjoyed some marginal success and benefits. However, the most success I have had in reaching my desired weight and ideal body shape (now and in the past 20 years ;o) has been when I simply forget to plan and organise my eating and eating habits and just listen to my body, eating when and what I want, as opposed to feeding my appetite.
When the focus of my attention becomes about finding my purpose and following that purpose with passion - I literally forget about the diets, the weight, the scale and what I weigh and just start to focus on how I look and feel.
The difficulty in following your purpose with passion, is discovering what your purpose actually is..... and that’s the scary part. The questioning of what your purpose is, and what you are passionate about! Asking yourself, those ‘what, where, when, how and why’s?’..... and maybe discovering that you feel you have no purpose and passion, so it’s far easier to distract yourself with your weight issue, eating and diets and filling your time with thinking about joining the gym and starting an exercise regime!
I know without any doubt that we all have purposeful endeavours... other than worrying about weight and food, those are important, but do they need to be that important? I know that each and every one of us can find purpose to what we do, and purposeful endeavours to be passionate about.
I am passionate about the simple things in life.... basically I’m a simplistic person, and hey, it works for me! So, I’m passionate about my husband and children and the relationships we have as a family. My house and my home are important to me. I love my work, updating and writing for the website, and whilst my job at a bookshop isn’t life changing and makes no difference to the average person on the street, it has a purpose in my life that is fulfilling.
The more I focus on my weight, the more those centimetres increase and my size grows. The more I focus on what I am eating and when I eat what, the more I want to eat, the more I eat those things I know I really shouldnt. Yet, when I take time to discover what gives me purpose, what I enjoy doing, and the things I love the most..... then food, my weight and those centimetres find that balance of who I really am, and the ideal body I desire. When I focus on my purpose, allowing myself to become passionate and enthusiastic about what’s really important and what I enjoy the most.... then those extra kilograms and centimetres, literally disappear.
For one thing, I know that as soon as I have an issue or conflict, that conflict manifests and results in and on my body.... and it shows. As soon as I resolve that conflict, then it also shows.
You are the only one who can find your purpose in life, and it’s as simple as it is challenging to discover what that purpose is. What makes you happy? What gets you excited? What are you enthusiastic about?
Discovering those things gives you the purpose you need to create passion in yourself and your life. Once you follow those purposeful endeavours with enthusiasm and passion on a day to day basis, building your passion...... As your purpose grows, your body will become empowered, as your passion increases so does your mental energy and vitality, as you follow your heart and listen to your intuition, so you begin to love and accept yourself unconditionally...... all of you!
Then you discover that the body you deserve and desire and have always wanted, simply becomes a fait accompli!
