A smile is the lighting system of the face, the cooling system of the head, and the heating system of the heart. -- Author Unknown
Hi Everyone
Thank-you so much for your awesome feedback and emails, and also thank-you for sharing the newsletter, and welcome to our new subscribers.
Mads one of our WhyWeight subscribers was hosting a Goddessence workshop on Saturday, and I decided to sponsor Bev's attendance and asked her to write an article about her experience for the website. (I will let you know when we have published Bev's article ;o)
So I went to the bank to deposit payment for the workshop and the bank teller who is familiar with my face as I bank regularly at the local Standard Bank Branch, greeted me with a warm smile. She is one of those people who has a ready smile that simply shines, and I always admire her enthusiasm and happy nature. Once the teller had completed the deposit transaction, she returned my copy of the deposit slip and smiling at me, she said, "I Love Your Reference!" "I beg your pardon?" I responded. "I love your reference, - 'Goddess Bev,' do you refer to yourself as Goddess Bev?" she said. "I wish!" I replied, explaining about the workshop that I was making payment for and the relevance of the reference 'Goddess Bev'.....
I wondered about my encounter.... returning home, I was so enthralled by the idea, that rather than returning to my desk and PC to continue with my working day.... I enjoyed a salad for lunch, lay on my bed reading a book and whiled away the afternoon in reflection.....
What would the world be like, if we as women referred to ourselves as 'Goddess Bev' or 'Goddess Mads' or 'Goddess Mands'... or like Wonder Woman or Super Woman, we embraced or feminine essence and our incredible strength and courage and triumphantly advertised to the world on our clothing - large labels in big letters - 'Wonder Mands' or 'Super Mands'! *Grin* (Yes, I know they are just fictional idols, but what if? ;o)
Instead we have labels like 'webmaster, trainer, writer, secretary, assistant, accountant, bank teller, lawyer' - and however appropriate, they do just describe the work we do and act as a job title.... rather than describing who we actually are!
I don't know about you, but I would love to have more inspiring and descriptive titles to use... rather than the more proper and currently acceptable one's..... and What actually stops us using such titles as 'Goddess'? ...Our conditioning? ....Our beliefs? ...Our religion? ...Our heritage? ...Our background?
Or our insecurities and fears?
So What if? ....indeed, I started signing my emails Goddess Mands.... despite my conditioning, beliefs, religion, heritage and background... Do you think I would create a stir, make people sit up and take notice, give me a smile and say, 'Wow! I love your confidence and belief in your self'? Or would they wonder at my arrogance, challenge my boldness and start whispering behind my back?
And how about if I started signing my emails... "Gorgeous Mands" or "Intelligent, Unique, Special, Beautiful, Wonderful Mands!"
Would it be so bad to acknowledge myself in such a way... and what would be the price I would pay for such courage?
It seems to me, that being a wall flower or hiding our light beneath a cover are far easier today then ever before, because of the challenging proposition of acknowledging our own incredible divinity, our beauty, our unique feminine power and essence! How much easier is it to place a job title and then your name, trapping ourselves in an acceptable labelled box?
And whilst such job titles do protect us from unwanted attention and standing out from the crowd, how do we acknowledge who we actually are to those we spend our day with and share our lives with?
Maybe only when we feel like a Goddess, or Gorgeous, Intelligent, Unique, Special, Beautiful, Wonderful... will we start to embrace it with courage and allow it to shine through..... when we feel worthy?
So, when will that be?
When you have lost all that additional weight you loathe so much, when you are the ideal size, when you have the body you dream of and wish for?.... Well, guess what, here's the difficult part.... the believing that we are and feeling like a Goddess, or Gorgeous, Intelligent, Unique, Special, Beautiful, Wonderful.... has to come first!
So for today, I am going to give myself new labels and titles....
Love and Laughter to You and Yours Goddess Mands "Gorgeous, Original, Divine, Dancing, Eccentric, Serene, Special Mands" *Daring Grin*
