Making Mistakes

Having a rich, full life is practically synonymous with making lots and lots of ‘mistakes’ .....and learning from each and every one of them!

It’s when we become too afraid of ‘Making Mistakes’ that we hit a dead end in our life, plonk ourselves in a rut, stunt our growth, or feel stuck and unable to move forward with our aspirations.

So you really have to look at ‘Why’ we become afraid of making a mistake, before you can face the fear, rationalise these uncomfortable emotions and deal with them..... usually it’s because of the hurt, consequences, disappointments, upheaval and results we have experienced due to previous perceived mistakes that we have made.... And because when we have made a decision as a result of the influence of others, rather than making a decision that is entirely our own, that we regret our decision.

It’s the regret that undermines our responsibility of our decisions and actions and keeps us trapped, unable to move forward and afraid of making mistakes, and therefor unable to be decisive of what we want to do next, or unwilling to do anything.

A person may even exude confidence and apparent self-esteem, yet inside they are quaking with the fear of making another mistake.... and that is no way to live life!

Because sooner or later they trip themselves up and fall flat on their face.... having made yet another perceived mistake.

Well, in truth we all ‘Make Mistakes’....... we all experience hurt from the things that happen in life. What’s important is that we learn as quickly as possible and empower ourselves to make decisions and choices on a more conscious level, taking responsibility for our actions, enabling us to learn more thereby increasing our personal power and wisdom, and developing our confidence and self-esteem from within.

Do you remember a time when you were young and your parents told you not to do something?

Like maybe:

Not to touch the stove when it was turned on because it was hot, and it would burn you.... or the heater, or the fire at a braai.... on not to play with matches or a lighter?....

Did you listen and never play with matches?

Or one day, when you were on your own decide that you were big enough and you could play with matches? .... and then learn a very valuable lesson from ‘Making a Mistake’?

“Making Mistakes” is synonymous with “Living” life to the fullest..... having a rich, full, abundant enjoyable life is tantamount to making lots and lots of mistakes.... and learning from each and every one of them!

I hope you learn wisdom from each and every “mistake”
you make today!
