Growth!

At the age of 17, my weight had already swung through the pendulum of ups and downs mainly attributing to the natural changes brought about by hormones. Whilst this weight fluctuation was a natural course, and in reality I had only gained a couple of kilograms here and there, and then eased down as my body found it’s natural balance, the teasing comments made by family and friends made the increase in my weight seem humungous and out of proportion in my mental perspective.

When my weight dropped radically, the concern of family and friends only increased my frustration and I belligerently ignored what they had to say. In the ensuing years I completely ignored the issue of my weight and pursued all the other endeavours in my life with purpose and passion.

For reasons I struggle to remember, I decided at the age of 27 to resolve the love - hate relationship I had with my body. This journey once begun, has been one of frustration and balance, tears and laughter, fear and love, healing and growth!

And continues still today!

WhyWeight - the website, the programs and all it entails is a testament of the grace I strive for, the knowledge I have acquired and the wisdom I share with you!

Each time I consider the ‘Why’ in WhyWeight I wonder and marvel at the nuances it creates and the connections it makes. If I had ever imagined the frustrations I would experience, the mistakes I would make and the long hours of work, sweat and tears I would go through - before I began this journey, then I probably never would have started it in the first place. Yet, if I consider how much I have learned, how much I have shared, how much you all have shared with me, allowing me to grow more than had I chosen to undertake this journey alone without the WhyWeight website, and you the visitors and subscribers, then all I feel is the deepest gratitude and thanks for the growth I have experienced.

Growth is a gradual increase in knowledge through the experiences gained from both the mistakes and failures and the triumphs and achievements. It’s the testing and applying of the knowledge acquired to find your own wisdom and grace.

Whilst the successful achievement of any endeavour,
is the ultimate reward, continually practising and enhancing
that which you know, will bring deeper wisdom and continued growth in your life and within yourself!
