GIGO?

One of the WhyWeight subscribers emailed me with a very true twist of a popular saying:

“GIGO” which is “Garbage In Garbage Out”,
although in her case, (and in ours too, as often the case maybe),
“Garbage In Garbage On my tummy, hips, bottom and thighs....”
The sentiment can be equally true of our ongoing health, physical vitality and mental energy....
If the food we eat and the greater part of our diet consists of processed and junk food,
then the ‘Garbage In Garbage Out’ relates to ‘Garbage In Garbage Out for health, resulting in sickness and manifesting negative effects on our body’.

I am as fond of a take-away ‘cheese and pineapple burger’ or a pizza laden with cheese and scrumptious goodies as the next person, and whilst chocolate has never been one of my foibles, I do love biscuits, cakes and my favourite lemon meringue pie or double fudge brownies....

Creating the balance between eating for pleasure and eating for health, means that your daily diet and general eating regime needs to consist of a minimum of 70% - natural foods. So you may indulge occasionally with your less healthy favourites. Natural foods as in fruit and vegetables and a large percentage of that should be eaten raw and fresh. Fruit should be eaten in it’s natural state as often as possible, as a fruit salad or as a smoothie. Raw vegetables should be eaten everyday, and with our South African climate this is possible all year round. Salads can be more than just lettuce, tomato and cucumber, so be creative and have fun with your salad creations.
