Determination, Diligence & Dreams!

So many people believe they lack determination to achieve their desired body weight and shape! I believe it’s not the lack of determination or due diligence that is the cause of failing to achieve, more that the methods or plan of action they follow that is the cause of failure. Early last year one of the WhyWeight subscribers emailed me to say she was a complete failure and lacked any determination, explaining that she was able to follow her diet for 4 weeks, loose 3 to 4 kilograms, and then she ‘lost it’ binged, and blew her diet. Gaining in just a few days all that she had worked to ‘lose’. So, I emailed her a reply, asking her to share what ‘diet’ she followed for the 4 weeks, and what she ate when she ‘lost it’ and binged. Her reply astounded me at her absolute determination and due diligence. Her breakfast was a meal replacement shake, with only a ‘packet’ of soup mixed with hot water for lunch, and if she struggled to make it through the afternoon, half a ‘sugar free’ jelly was allowed for flagging energy. Her evening meal consisted of a salad and a slice of bread, IF she was hungry? Even year old babies eat more than that, and all they do is eat, sleep and have the people in their lives run after them.

With a different perspective and the determination and diligence she already had, following a healthier eating plan would soon show the benefits and results of the weight and body shape she desired. To often we get caught in the trap of the ‘quick fix’ and instantaneous need for results, and are surprised that our bodies rebel, we feel exhausted and despondent or of course think we lack ‘determination and diligence’. If we focused even half the same determination to follow healthier methods and diligently change our lifestyle, the results would soon manifest our dream body and the weight we desire. 

If the focus of our determination is drinking adequate water, eating healthy and nutritious food, and following an exercise plan we enjoy..... if we make these changes to our daily lifestyle, with constant care and effort, perseverance and diligence, over time the body weight and shape we have only dreamed about will become a tangible reality! 

To often the ‘dream’ body we want is actually what someone else wants, or as a result of an upcoming event where we want to look our best and wear the same outfit we did three sizes smaller than we are right now! Whilst, we might fulfil this aspiration for a short while or until the day or event in question, maintaining our hopes and dreams for a lifetime can only be possible if they are our own hopes, dreams and desires. 

Discovering what your dream body actually is or the body shape you desire, is a question of asking yourself, “what size you are the most comfortable at?” - “what body shape you feel the most confident in?” - “what weight you feel is the most healthy for your height and frame?” - “what body you will be happiest with?”.   

When you give free rein to your imagination, allowing your aspirations to become a clear mental picture in your mind, when you give focus and attention to the dream body you want, by allowing yourself to see the real picture of the body you desire and dream about, then you can begin to make what you imagine.... possible.

You can then make your desires and dreams come true by manifesting them in reality for a lifetime!
