Balance & Benefits!
When the methodology we choose to bring about change or achieve results is extreme, like going on a ‘restrictive diet’ to attain a certain body weight, then we throw our body and our mind out of balance. Our body reacts by slowing our metabolism and once we start eating normally again, it stores every extra gram it possibly can, hence we gain the weight we have lost and usually even more. Although choosing a more moderate method or course of action might entail more time, in the long term, it will mean achieving better and more favourable results and benefits!
Understanding and making a list of the benefits you will enjoy, once you successfully attain your desired body weight, helps keep you in balance and harmony, whilst willingly sacrificing some of those unhealthy, although tempting treats.
Pursuing your desired body weight will entail making sacrifices, and it usually means the things you love and enjoy.... those things that increased your weight, or the reasons why you are carrying that extra weight in the first place. If your attention is focused on the sacrifices you are making, then following the course of action you have chosen will become almost impossible. What you need to do is keep your attention focused on the benefits you will enjoy once you successfully achieve your desired body weight. So keep your attention focused on the advantages, and make a list of the benefits you will enjoy!
